Project management
Working within and adjacent to academic institutions in arts and humanities programming, I aim to honor two impulses: to affirm the validity of arts practice and humanities scholarship as their own unique forms of research and intellectual investigation, and to situate these zones of activity among other disciplines and ways of knowing. This interdisciplinary orientation also trained me in every aspect of arts and public humanities project management: initial research, liaison and collaboration with campus and community partners, residency design and execution, event production, and post-event reflection/recalibration.
I am especially interested in “slow programming”: fewer, deeper, and more sustainable collaborations.
I focus on co-constructing context-building encounters and events that honor the nuances of place and craft and the expertise of their stewards; that aim toward reciprocity between and intermingling of “artist” or “scholar” and “audience” or “participant”; and that generously invite interconnectivity between the personal and the political.
